Why these chews are different

Our cold extrusion process helps preserve nutrients, combining powerful actives with natural ingredients, into therapeutic biscuity bites.

Whole Food Synergy

It’s much easier to make supplements that use synthetics and isolates than it is to use whole foods. But even though it's harder to do, we use whole foods so you don't lose the synergistic effect of allthe phytonutrients.

Research-based & Therapeutic

Our formulations are based on published research papers and we use therapeutic amounts of key actives.

Innovative Nutrient Preservation

Using advanced cold extrusion, our unique chew-making process, developed with CSIRO Kickstart and support from Food Innovation Australia, helps preserve the nutrients in our ingredients..so they get to your pet!

Biscuity-bites

In a yum biscuity format, that's easy to bite & crumble (even with missing teeth), they're like a healthy shortbread for dogs.

Your dog's diet probably lacks these...

5 Reasons your dog needs Antiox

#1 Longer life & more vitality

Lower oxidative stress translates to less cellular damage over time, promoting longevity and a higher quality of life.

#2 Reduced joint pain and better mobility

Less inflammation makes it easier for your pet to move around comfortably. This is particularly beneficial for older pets who may suffer from arthritis.

#3 Healthier skin and coat

Chronic inflammation often leads to skin issues. Reduce that to help maintain healthy skin and a shiny coat, reducing the incidence of itching and irritation.

#4 Brain/cognitive function

Oxidative damage in both the human and canine brain significantly increases with age. This can lead to neuronal dysfunction due to modifications to proteins, lipids and DNA/RNA.

#5 Heart health

Inflammation and oxidative stress are important factors that can contribute to the development and progression of heart disease in dogs.

Why antioxidants are good for your dog, with Dr Anna Sutton

As your pet ages, their body’s ability to combat inflammation and oxidative stress decreases. And inflammation and oxidative stress are linked processes that play key roles in ageing.

Oxidative stress arises from an imbalance between the production of ROS and the body’s antioxidant defence mechanisms.

Oxidative stress can activate pro-inflammatory pathways, while inflammation can enhance ROS production, worsening cellular damage and accelerating the ageing process.

This can lead to common age-related issues like arthritis, cognitive decline, and weakened immunity. By addressing these root causes, you can help slow down the ageing process and improve your pet’s overall quality of life.

Your dog's diet probably lacks these...and your dog's gut faces challenges throughout their lives.

4 Reasons your dog needs Biotics Thera-Bites

#1 First line of defence

The gut is the immune system’s first line of defence. With 70% of your dog’s immune cells in the gut, a balanced microbiome is necessary to strengthen their natural defences, fight infections, and reduce inflammation.

#2 The gut-skin link

An imbalanced gut can contribute to inflammation and skin conditions, while a healthy microbiome supports clear skin and a shiny coat.

#3 The gut-brain link

The gut-brain axis links intestinal health to mood regulation. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) produced by gut microbes play a role in neurotransmitter synthesis that influence mood and behaviour.

#4 Gut health needs life long support

From the stress of puppyhood, to the ups and downs of adult life, to the inflammageing and health issues of ageing. Your dog's gut system is challenged throughout their life…and it needs to be reinforced.

Why your dog's gut needs help & support, with Dr Anna Sutton

Imagine your dog is facing a sudden change—maybe a new home, a trip to the vet, or a shift in diet. These everyday stressors don’t just affect mood. They also disrupt gut health.

When stress hits, the balance of bacteria in the gut shifts, reducing beneficial microbes and allowing harmful ones to take over. This imbalance can upset digestion, causing diarrhea, constipation, and poor nutrient absorption.

As this imbalance worsens, the gut’s protective barrier weakens, allowing toxins and harmful microbes into the bloodstream. The inflammation starts in the digestive system but quickly spreads throughout the body, affecting every organ system.

Since the gut produces important neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, this stress on the digestive system can influence the gut-brain axis, leaving dogs anxious, reactive, and even fatigued.

At the same time, a weakened gut means a weaker immune system, leaving pets more vulnerable to infections and skin problems (gut-skin axis).

The good news? You can help restore balance.

Your dog's diet probably lacks these key omega 3 fatty acids.

5 Reasons your dog needs Omegas Thera-Bites

Black and white abstract shape resembling a play button.

#1 Help your dog's general health

Omega 3 fatty acids - and particularly EPA & DHA — can be low in commercial diets but they're really important fatty acids and among the mnost buoavailable. They play a crucial role in managing inflammation in different parts of the body. They are both needed because they work in different ways:

  • EPA: makes a specific type of lipid mediator that regulates inflammatory conditions like osteoa and IBD.

  • DHA: makes a different kind of lipid mediator that helps neuroprotection, neuroplasticity and retinol health. It also has another function in would healing and gut inflammation.

#2 Skin coat and care

Dogs with canine pruritic skin disease, supplemented with DHA, showed significant improvements in skin health and coat character over time. The quality of a dog’s paw pad is also linked to its DHA nutritional status.

#3 Mobility and joint health

EPA particularly, supports a normal inflammatory response amd may help manage cartilage degradation. These fatty acids compete with omega-6 fatty acids which may help balance the production of inflammatory mediators.

#4 Brain/cognitive development

Feeding dams a diet enriched with DHA during gestation and lactation has been associated with improvements in the neurologic development of their puppies.

#5 brain function when ageing

Healthy brains contain about 60% structural fats and 30% DHA in the gray matter. DHA is the most abundant fatty acid in the brain representing about 95% of the total omega-3s.. However, DHA declines as dogs age. DHA helps improve cognitive function in older dogs, shown in tests on visual performance, learning and memory.

Omega 3s and why kinky is better! With Dr Anna Sutton

Fatty acids aren't all the same.

Omega 6 fatty acids are essential for all stages of life in dogs and cats because they can't be synthesised in the body and their deficiency is associated with well-defined clinical abnormalities or suboptimal physiologic processes.

But most commercial pet foods contain high, and even excessive amounts of omega 6 fatty acids…and not enough omega 3.

Omega 3 fatty acids - and in particular eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) - have a fundamental role in inflammation.

Prostaglandins and leukotrienes derived from omega-6 are proinflammatory, whereas those derived from EPA and DHA (omega-3) result in a reduced inflammatory response with decreased platelet aggregation and immunologic stimulation.

But that's not all. Omega-3s are further classified based on chain length and biological function:

  • Alpha-linolenic acid(ALA; 18:3, n-3) – A short-chain omega-3 found in plant-based sources like flaxseed and chia. It serves as a precursor to EPA and DHA but because it's too short and the wrong structure it has limited conversion efficiency in dogs. It's not kinky enough!

  • Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA; 20:5, n-3) – A long-chain omega-3 primarily found in marine sources, involved in inflammatory modulation and immune function.

  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA; 22:6, n-3) – The longest-chain omega-3, crucial for neural function, vision, and cell membrane integrity.

The conclusion? Dogs will benefit from topping up EPA ad EPA, but getting that from plant-based sources won't do the job efectively.
