How does the idea of biting into a meaty-like chunk, that's actually made from human-grade plant protein being served in restaurants around the country sound?

Great texture, great mouth feel...without the great environmental impact. Well, even ifyou're not eating it (yet), your dog can. (And if Flexi Lexi and the gang are anything to go by, they'll love it.)

So that dogs get all they need nutritionally AND get a great taste sensation, a hero ingredient in our meat-free complete meals is our human-grade meaty chunks from food tech friends, Harvest B.

Planet A uses insect protein as a key ingredient. But instead of going 'ew', you should read this and go 'oh!!'

The environmental benefits are obvious.Insect production uses less land, water and feed than traditional livestock production. (Plus at Planet A, we use black solider fly larvae fed on a diet of highly controlled clean, pre-consumer food by-products...like from Bakers' Delight and others.)

But there are some health benefitsyou may not know about also. In fact insect protein:

• Is rich in protein and contains an amino acid profile that's even more digestible than many meats
• Can also be hypoallergenic for dogs with meat allergies
• Is less likely to carry zoonotic diseases than meat
• Isn't raised with hormones and antibiotics that find their way to the dog

ou read that right. Planet A includes a bunch of upcycled food in the mix. And the reason is that otherwise it would go to waste...and it needn't.

• Nutritious vegetable powders lightly dried from out of spec (size-wise) veg and the leaves of cabbages, broccoli and cauliflower. (Did you know these are also used in human food snacks? Just saying.)
• Carrot (NinjinFIbre®) and tomato fibre (LycoFibre®) from carrot juice and tomato pulp. They both act as a prebiotic.

Sustainable algae is finding its way into all of our products.

Algaecal®, a plant-based calcium from a unique strain of plant-based red algae found on the shores of South America —Lithothamnion superpositum.AlgaeCal naturally contains all 13 bone-building minerals, with added vitamin D3 to better absorb the calcium.

DHAgold® is a marine micro-algae that's a sustainable alternative to fish oil. It's been proven to help improve cognitive function in older dogs, as well as provide support for skin, coat and joint health.

Algimun® is a dietary mix of what's called marine sulphated polysaccharides. Algimun combines two bioactive macroalgal extracts: MSP®BARRIER, a red algal extract that enhances the gut barrier function, and MSP®IMMUNITY, a green algal extract, that modulates innate and adaptive immune responses.
