Cod liver oil

Fish oil is a good source of EPA and DHA. Theoretically, EPA and DHA can be derived from another omega-3 fatty acid, ALA. However, ALA is not efficiently converted to EPA and DHA in mammals, including humans and dogs. Cats cannot make the conversion at all.

The primary reason is the lack of an enzyme that can make the conversion possible. Therefore, when supplementing omega-3 fatty acids, fish oil is a more potent and efficient source of EPA and DHA as compared with products rich in ALA such as flaxseed, linseed, or canola oil.

Green lipped mussel

Green lipped mussel from NZ contains glycosaminoglycans, glucosamine and chondroitin, as well as zinc, and magnesium, all beneficial for good joint health. They are also a source of omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, Including but not only, DHA and EPA.

AlgaeCal

How much should I feed my dog?

For adult dogs, the Bestie Allrounder is always 5% of the meal. The overall quantity depends on the protein source. That's because different meat proteins provide a different amount of metabolisable energy. We take that into account, when we provide a feed guide.

The Allrounder is also suitable for puppies. But it's fed in a different ratio to adults. For puppies, Bestie Allrounder is always 10% of the meal.

The feed calculator below is based on feeding your dog, twice a day. It shows a per meal quantity, in grams.

This means that a:

350g pack will typically last a 10kg dog about 35 days, on beef

What was the reason you switched to bestie...was there something going on health-wise?:: Have had Nala on Bestie ever since we have had her. she is a healthy, happy pooch. Except for when she thinks she can con us.

Definitely worth it.

About 6 weeks ago we nearly lost our Nala. We had a bit of an infestation with mice and rat bait was laid. If we hadn't got her to an afterhours vet when we did, she would no longer be with us. Sigh. She was given a plasma transfusion and Vit K tablets. We weren't able to continue with the All Rounder as I didn't know the list of ingredients and the vet wasn't sure if there was anything in it which would cancel out the Vit K. And at 0200 with an emergency on hand, who was going to Google. A month later and she is off the Vit K and back onto the All Rounder and Chews for her skin. We have noticed how quickly she picked up during treatment, one of the reasons being she had been on the All Rounder for quite some time. And now she is back on the All Rounder she is continuing to improve. Please, please, please have a photo of the list of ingredients on your phone.

Pups are looking good

Easy to add to their chicken mince. Gives me confidence their diet is healthy and sustaining, even rejuvenating. Also my miniature poodle has not had another ear infection since starting it, could be coincidence, but I am not stopping.

Bestie is the Best!

My two Border Terriers are thriving on their diet of raw meat topped with the allrounder. They absolutely love it. No more diarrhoea, no more itchy allergy rashes or ear infections. They have never been healthier or happier. It's been 7 months now and we won't be going back to that horrible kibble.

What was the reason you switched to bestie...was there something going on health-wise?:: i’ve been raw feeding for a while now and this is by far the easiest way to endure my dog is getting everything he needs

What was the reason you switched to bestie...was there something going on health-wise?:: I switched because Frankie had an elevated Liver Enzyme blood count and I wanted her to have the best possible diet I could give her

Frankie's Mealtime Transformation

Frankie has gone from turning her nose up at most mealtimes to being a very happy little dish licker. I have spent hours and money sourcing, prepping, introducing fresh food subscription diet, single protein kibble but nothing piqued her interest. It was like having a fussy toddler on my hands. I am so happy with the Allrounder knowing that she is getting a well balanced diet and it is so rewarding to see her finally happy with what I am giving her to eat.
